A STUDENT seriously injured in Wednesday’s terror attack in London has posted on social media from his hospital bed.

Former Darwen Aldridge Academy headboy Travis Frain, 19, suffered leg and armed fractures after being deliberately run down by a 4x4 on Westminster Bridge.

Mr Frain posted: “I’m not too bad, though things are obviously still in the air this early.

“After X-rays on over 20 different parts of the body, a couple of MRIs, an ultrasound and a CT scan, both my ribs and hip bones are fine.

“However, I have fractured the top part of my left hand, and most of the fingers.

“I’ve also fractured my leg, around the knee, and as a result, I will need physio over the coming months to be able to walk at the extent I used to.”

He added: “At the end of the day, it could have been a hell of a lot worse.”

Eight people have been arrested in the wake of the attack, which saw three people killed and at least 40 injured before the attacker Khalid Masood was shot dead.

Community leaders have continued to condone the attack.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) Blackburn said in a statement: “The Ahmadiyya Muslim community strongly condemns the barbaric attacks that took place in Westminster.

“Our sympathies and prayers are with the people of London and all those affected.

“Such attacks and violence against innocent people can never be justified under any circumstances.”

Abdul Hamid Qureshi, the chairman of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, said: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of these thoughtless acts of violence. May Almighty Allah protect us all from those that would wish us harm or seek to create divisions in our communities, grant strength and patience to those that have lost loved ones, and swift and complete recoveries to those that suffered injury.

“It is common for there to be a sharp rise in hate crimes and incidents after such events. “This is often the purpose of such barbaric acts. As such, we ask everyone, Muslim and non-Muslim, to stand together, remain vigilant, and look out for each other. Our greatest strength is our unity.”
