MAY the luck of the Irish be with you tomorrow as the UK gets into the spirit for St Patrick’s Day.
It may not be an English holiday but it’s one that holds a special place on many calendars.
So if you are preparing to ‘craic’ out the Guinness and adorn yourself in green, here are 10 places in Bolton to celebrate the day:
1. A home away from home for residents, descendants and lovers of the ‘Emerald Isle’, the Bolton Irish Centre will get things into full swing with live music from Chris Ball during the day, with free entry.
Doors for an evening of music with Shillelagh open at 7pm at the centre in Lever Street. Tickets cost £5.
2. If you are fed-up of Guinness, the Market Place Shopping Centre Vaults has something a little different on offer.
Great Ale has got stuck into the St Patrick’s Day theme with an exclusive green beer.
Visitors are also welcomed to dress up on the day and the Market Place is inviting enthusiasts to upload their Irish-themed selfies to Facebook for a chance to win two prizes from Prezzo and Great Ale.
3. Meanwhile over at Level nightclub in Mawdsley Street there’s a special guest visiting for Paddy’s Day.
Soap star royalty Steve McFadden, who plays hard man Phil Mitchell in Eastenders, will be meeting and greeting fans at the town centre club.

4. The Albion is using the day to make some noise for a good cause.
The pub in Moor Lane is hosting a fundraising event for Bolton Hospice with live music, and free Irish stew and soda bread, from noon to midnight.
Staff and customers have also been adding to charity by taking part in a charity shave. The group of men have not shaved since New Year’s Day and will go under the razor on Saturday.
5. In Bradshawgate, Yates is getting into the party mood with live music from 3pm to 6pm.
Guests can also enjoy chip butties and get involved in sing-alongs.
6. Other events in town centre include a St Pat’s Party at Venue Bar.
The over 25’s venue opens its doors at 7pm with a performance from singer Amy Hannon, Irish music and disco.
Entry is free and punters are encouraged to dress in green.
7. Party-goers in Westhoughton can head to the White Horse in Bolton Road for one of its ‘best parties of the year’.
Doors open at noon with Guinness goodies on offer – including the famous hats! – Irish food and drink, Irish music all day with sing-alongs and jig-alongs, as well as a live performance from the Travellin Strings at 7pm.
It will also be changing up proceedings with a screening of the Cheltenham Gold Cup at 3.20pm.
8. Live music is also coming to Bromley Cross.
The Sportsman in Darwen Road will play host to bands including The Funky Two Hats from 9pm.
9. In Daubhill the Ellesmere Road Recreation Club is helping raise funds for the air ambulance.
Road Reapers MCC is hosting a St Pat’s Rock Night from 7pm to 1am with music by Black Friday.
Tickets on the door costing £4.
10. Finally, celebrations continue into the next day at Bolton Ukrainian Club from 8pm.
The social club in Castle Street is cracking out the bingo for a special St Patrick’s event featuring a game of Play Your Cards Right and music by DJ Slimboy Fat.
