A TEXTILE academy is to launch at Burnley College.
The college is launched a new free eight week course open to unemployed people over the age of 18 in a bid to train the next generation of skilled textile technicians and machinists for companies like The Senator Group, Lantex Manufacturing and Stirling Mouldings.

The academy will be launched by fashion designer Patrick Grant on Thursday between noon and 2.30pm.
There will also be a textile-themed afternoon tea, live demonstrations and chances to meet industry trainers and employers.
Successful participants will achieve a level one qualification in Textiles, while employer talent scouts will be offering employment for roles in their organisations to individuals showing potential and drive.
