ROCKY has a tough name but is a real softy at heart.

The 15-month-old Staffy-boxer cross belongs to Ashleigh Lee from Tonge Moor.

The 28-year-old, who works at Clinton cards, said: “We got Rocky in July 2016. I never wanted a dog but he needed a home to go to, as his first owners’ other dogs didn’t get on with him.

“My nana got him for herself but he was too much for her as she’s almost 70-years-old and he’s extremely boisterous and very strong.

“He’s really soft and I don’t think he has a bad bone in his body. He’s fantastic with children, too. Rocky is like a baby at times. He likes to sleep in bed with us at night.

“He loves teddies, although they only last two minutes with him, then we spend ages having to clean all the fluff up.”

Rocky gets extremely excited when he hears the words ‘biscuit, treat, breakfast, tea and lead’ – though he doesn’t enjoy the rain, ironing board or hair dryer - running up and down stairs while barking if they’re ever in use.

Ashleigh added: “I’m so glad we have rocky. I can’t imagine not having him now he’s well and truly one of our family.”
