THE Voice singing sensation Linda Jennings is making national headlines.

The 49-year-old featured in a host of Sunday papers and appeared on the Lorraine Show yesterday morning after wowing judges and viewers on Saturday night.

Linda, from Bolton, said she is scared at the thought of coming up against “the amazing singers” after successfully going through to the next round of the ITV show.

She also spoke about her new look and why she chose Tom Jones’ ‘group’.

Linda was speaking to presenter Helen Skelton after her performance on Saturday night where she won over Tom Jones, Gavin Rossendale and will.i.am, with her version of The Beatles song The Long and Winding Road.

The singer said: “When will.i.am and Gavin turned first I was absolutely internally freaking out, when Tom turned as well, I thought what is going on? Tom’s story was so compelling. I am a big Beatles fan and I just thought he has been hanging out with Paul McCartney in the 60s. It had to be him really.”

Linda told how she had also put some thought into her look, despite the auditions being solely judged on her voice.

She said been struggling with a haircut but managed to find a hairdresser and got a new look before her appearance.

Linda said: “I have been struggling with a haircut for a number of years to try and find something a bit more funky. I’ve had bob haircuts, long hair and I’ve had super short hair, so I’ve managed to find a really good hairdresser and get it done like this.”

Linda confessed she was scared at the prospect of going through the next round. She has auditioned for talent shows before, but this is the furthest she has got.

She said: “Some of the other singers are so amazing and I have to compete with them. It’s going to be tough.”
