BOLTON Wanderers chairman Ken Anderson has reached a deal with catering partner Heathcote & Co, avoiding a legal case.

A dispute had emerged between Wanderers and the Bolton-based company, which has supplied food and drink to the stadium and hotel since 2013.

Heathcote & Co had initially threatened to issue a winding up order over a six-figure unpaid bill and revoked all credit facilities at the hotel temporarily at the end of January.

Mr Anderson described the commercial agreement as “one-sided” but confirmed yesterday that a compromise had now been agreed.

“I am pleased to say that we have resolved the recent issues and are now focusing on moving everything forward, hopefully, for the better.”

Paul Heathcote, owner of Heathcote & Co, said: “The discussion was amicable and we came to a form of agreement and I am awaiting confirmation in writing and payment as agreed.”

The Bolton chairman confirmed at the weekend that his efforts to curb costs at Wanderers had now saved the club more than £1million in running costs.
