A WOMAN and a child were taken to hospital after a kitchen fire yesterday.
Fire crews from Hyndburn were called to Ribbleton Drive, Accrington, after two women and a child heard their fire alarm sound just after 5pm.

A fire service spokesman said the occupants were upstairs at the time but managed to escape down the stairs and out of the front door.
He said: "One of the adults and the child were treated at the scene by firefighters using oxygen for smoke inhalation and then transported to hospital via ambulance.
"The cause of the fire is thought to have been started by accident due to a cooker hob being left on.
"This incident highlights the importance of having fitted, working smoke alarms."
Crews also managed to rescue three cats from inside the house.
