A THREE-YEAR-OLD boy has appeared in a car advert starring as a young Sir Bradley Wiggins.

Harry Davies, from Stoneclough, landed the role after he impressed the casting director – even though at the time he could not ride a bike without stabilisers.

The youngster, who attends Prestolee Pre-School, is on the books of Warwick Management, who were contacted by the filmmakers who were looking for a young male actor to star in the advert for Skoda.

Harry’s mum Laura said: “He did really well but they asked me if I could teach him how to ride a bike.

“So the next day we had a go and he did it first time. I was so proud of him.”

After a wardrobe fitting, alongside two other hopefuls, Harry was picked for the role of the young Olympic cycling gold medallist as soon as he showed off his new biking skills.

The filming took place in early December, with Harry being cheered on by his mother and his grandfather John Hinks.

Sadly, the family, who live in Seddon Gardens, didn’t get to meet or see Sir Bradley, but Mrs Davies said it was a great experience for her son and he thoroughly enjoyed himself.

Mrs Davies, aged 32, said: “Throughout the day he just had to keep riding his bike, pretend to fall off and throw the bike down and pretend he couldn’t do it.

“He must have done it 100 times.”

The advert was screened for the first time at the end of last month when the family were at a friend’s wedding.

Mrs Davies said: “As soon as the wedding speeches finished we ran out into a room with a TV and then it came on.”

And they looked on as their boy appeared as Sir Bradley’s younger self, trying hard to master his bicycle before falling off.

Mrs Davies added: “It was just incredible to see. I’m still on a high.”

Harry’s sister Daisy, aged eight, is also a part of the same casting agency and Mrs Davies used to go to drama school when she was young.

She and her husband Paul, aged 43, both have their fingers crossed that the pair will go on to become successful actors when they are older.
