THIS week’s star of the Animal Magic page is a real grafter.

Millie the miniature Jack Russell belongs to Catherine Crowe, from Deane.

But during the day, the five-year-old dog likes to go to work with Catherine’s brother, who drives plant machinery while building new houses.

“She wears a high-visibility vest and sits on his knee most of the day,” said the 34-year-old healthcare worker.

When she’s not on the site, Millie enjoys napping on her days off.

She’s also very sociable.

Catherine added: “Millie also enjoys a chat on FaceTime to family members.

“She’s good with all humans but doesn’t like other dogs too much, as she was attacked by another dog on the local park.

“She’s certainly the boss of the house. We are mere servants.

“Anyone who calls to the house obviously only comes to see her, and she’s particularly fond of the window cleaner.”
