THIS Saturday a Bolton group is preparing to kick off a year of big events in style.

Cleargreen will be taking to the stage at the Blind Tiger in Nelson Square for what could be a rare local gig.

The Boltonian four-piece are stepping foot on home soil before heading off to play a year of festivals and solo events.

Manager Colin Blair has also confirm that the indie group from Kearsley are also recording 10 new songs later this month.

It will be followed by the release of their first single in April, followed by a debut album in September.

They have previously headlined the Ritz Manchester, Manchester Academy 3 and being included in Fred Perry Subculture's Top 20 Manchester Unsigned bands.

On Saturday they will be supported by newly-formed five-piece rockers Sollo from Prestwich and the psychedelic Astral Project.

Cleargreen will be on stage at 9:30 and will play a set over one hour long.

Tickets are available through the Blind Tiger Bolton Facebook page or on the door.
