AN ELDERLY man was rescued after he was injured in a fall at a country park.
Bolton Mountain Rescue team assisted ambulance crews in helping the 84-year-old, who suffered a hip injury after slipping on a path at Moses Gate Country Park.
The rescue team was called at about 4.20pm on Saturday, after the ambulance had been unable to get close to the incident due to car park height restrictions.
A mountain rescue team spokesman said: "Many people were taking the opportunity to enjoy the unseasonal warm, bright weather, including an 84-year-old male out walking around Moses Gate Country Park.
"The gentleman had slipped on one of the paths suffering a hip injury.
"The ambulance service personnel had reached the gentleman but were unable to get the ambulance close to the incident due to the car park height restrictions. The team responded with 18 people and our 4 Land Rover Mountain Rescue Ambulances who were able to access the park.
"Due to the injuries of the gentleman, he was placed on to one of our stretchers and carried the short distance to the ambulance.
"We would like to wish the man a speedy recovery."
