A BEAUTY queen is appealing for help in her bid to be crowned Ms Earth UK.

Debbie Taylor was recently named Miss Ultimate Dream Queen in what was only her second pageant, and now has her sights on the global stage.

The 36-year-old, who runs the Nexus beauty shop in Water Street, Radcliffe, will be representing Manchester in the Ms Earth UK competition at the Bolholt Hotel in January and could then go on to the international pageant in Las Vegas.

She said: “Miss Ultimate Dream Queen is a title I’m very proud to have and it sounds very glamorous.

“I will be competing against people from all over the country for the title of Ms Earth UK and if I win then I will be flying out to Las Vegas to represent the UK at the internationals.

“I am now looking for local businesses who would be willing to sponsor me and I am also looking for volunteering opportunities. I am particularly looking to get involved with anything that is to do with conservation and saving the planet.”

As well as being on the lookout for sponsorship, the beauty queen is also looking for donations of any hair and beauty items or treatments that could help her claim another crown.

And after being encouraged by the success of her friend, Sherene Dawber, Miss Taylor is now determined to continue her success.

She added: “Mrs UK, Sherene Dawber, comes into our shop and is a good friend of mine. She talked me into doing it and Miss Ultimate Dream Queen was only the second pageant I have been in.

“When Sherene asked me to do the first one I was just making up the numbers, but I absolutely loved it. It was just a bit of fun to start with but now I am taking it quite seriously.

“Now I feel really driven to go on and win this competition in January. There is so much hard work involved in getting ready for something like this and I am really excited. It is all a bit overwhelming. There is a chance I could be representing the UK and I am still trying to get my head around that.”
