CHRISTMAS cheer was in plentiful supply in Horwich on Friday night for the switching on of the town's festive lights.
The Mayor of Horwich, Cllr Jim Bullock, and Mayoress, Dorothy Bullock, lit up the Christmas tree at the roundabout opposite the Crown Hotel with the help of their grandsons, Matthew and Alexander Devine, as well as the Mayor of Blackrod, Cllr Anne Cunliffe, and consort Jim Brooks.
The big switch-on was followed by a carol service led by the Rev Michael Behrend, accompanied by the Rivington and Blackrod High School band and the choir from Chorley New Road Primary School.
Santa Claus himself also paid a visit aboard the Horwich Rotary Club sleigh.
