BOLTON has a rich history of football and The Bolton News has always been there to cover it.
Whether it is Bolton Wanderers or Bolton County, the paper is at the heart of football in the town.
And here we celebrate the junior game in a super 20-page special supplement.
Youngsters have always had the chance to play organised, competitive football in the town but since the Bolton, Bury and District Football League started 20 years ago participation numbers have increased dramatically to the current figure of around 8,500.
We asked clubs to send us pictures of their teams, and to say the response was remarkable is an understatement.
We had more than 100 line-ups sent in before the supplement was full and even increased the size by four pages to accommodate as many of them as possible.
