SHOTS were fired at a house in Walkden while two young children were home in what police are describing as a 'targeted attack'.
Police were called to the property in Hilton Lane at 1.40am today after receiving reports of shots being fired at the house.
Officers discovered damage to a window consistent with a shotgun discharge.
Detective Inspector Kenny Blain, of Greater Manchester Police, said: "This could have had devastating consequences especially because there were two young children in the house at the time.
“Thankfully no one was injured but this would have been extremely frightening for the family.
“We are treating it as a targeted attack and have been carrying out house-to-house enquiries in the area.
“I would like to reassure the public we are doing everything possible to find those responsible and have extra patrols in the area.
“I would urge anyone with any information about this to please contact police.”
Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
