THERE was chaos at a meeting of Bolton Council this evening as different groups of protesters stormed the council chamber.

The meeting began with a demonstration outside the town hall by people against plans to cut back on children's centres in the borough.

Those same campaigners made their voices heard loudly from the public gallery as the meeting began and TUC union leader Tom Hanley was escorted out of the meeting by security after trying to speak to members.

But what appeared to be a different group of protesters then loudly heckled members and unveiled a banner with the words 'corrupt' emblazoned on it.

Council leader Cliff Morris was the target for their abuse, with one protester heard to shout 'how many more mosques Cllr Morris.'

At this point the meeting was adjourned and councillors left the room, before the protesters were removed and the meeting continued.
