A MUSICIAN has penned a song to help raise money and support for missing youngster Madeleine McCann.

Daniel Orlick, of Glenfield Road, Nelson, said his wife inspired him to write 'Bring Madeleine Home'.

All proceeds from the song, written in one day and recorded in three, will go to the Find Madeline/No Stone Unturned campaign.

Madeleine's parents, Kate and Gerry McCann, have just finished touring Europe and Morocco to highlight their daughter's abduction in Portugal six weeks ago.

The father-of-one wanted to do something to help the missing four-year-old's parents and decided to use his musical talents to raise money for the search.

The Chicago-born song-writer said: "I was sitting here with my wife Joanne and I said if I had a lot of money I would give it to her family.

"She said you don't have a lot of money but you have music inside you.

"I am hoping the song will be liked by people who do not have children and through the song they can relate to what has happened."

Daniel moved to Nelson two years ago to be with Joanne, who he met while she was on holiday in the States and married after nine days.

The 28-year-old decided to release the song digitally on his own record label Ghost Town Records, based in Nelson, which he set up with a partner, Joanne St Clair, earlier this year.

He said the song was purposely written as an upbeat song of hope, not one of depression and sadness.

Daniel said: "In a time of much sadness the last thing we need is more sadness.

"What is needed is the encouragement to carry on to victory.

"Thinking about how the odds are stacked against you will not aid your cause. Faith, hope, and courage will. This is what the song addresses".

The song can be down-loaded from www. indie store.com/danielorlick.

Every penny raised from the side A and B versions will go to the campaign.

Song buyers will also be asked to add their name to an email list and for every 500 bought, the email will make its way back to Ghost Town Records where the names will be collated and sent to Madeleine's family as a message of support.
