A PARTY at the home of an asylum seeker ended in violence when two men fought out a vicious battle.

Blackburn magistrates heard that a female who tried to intervene was kicked in the stomach by one of the men.

Sarbust Hidyat, 31, of Accrington Road, Blackburn, admitted assaulting Sasha Creedon, and using threatening behaviour.

He was sentenced to community supervision for 12 months, ordered to do 120 hours of community punishment, and put on an 8pm to 7am curfew for three months.

Catherine Allan, prosec-uting, said Miss Creedon and another girl had been at the house in Accrington Road with the defendant, and others, and they had all been drinking.

She went to the off-licence about 10.30pm and when she returned Hidyat was sitting on the bed with blood pouring from a head wound.

Creedon and the other girl left. Hidyat followed and kicked her in the stomach. Later he was taken to hospital and, while there, became aggressive and abusive.

Roger Pickles, defending, said there had been a fight between the two asylum seekers. "He says she got involved in the fight and accepts that he assaulted her. He is sorry."
