A BURY woman’s dreams have finally come true as she opened her nursery after a year of hard work and overcoming neighbour objections.

Hayley Taggart officially opened Bambinos in Manchester Road last week having secured planning permission in September 2015.

She said: “I have been through a big battle with planning permission so to finally have it open is great, I am very proud.

“It has been very hectic and I have been through it all from being up on the scaffolding to painting seven coats of paint on the walls so I am so happy that it is finally open.”

When Miss Taggart applied for permission for change of use from a house to a nursery she was met with objections from some neighbours who said that it would cause dogs to bark all day.

Five neighbours formally objected to the proposal citing a number of reasons including noise from the children and traffic chaos.

Despite the objections she continued with her plans and has now seen her dreams come true as the nursery was officially opened by Mayor of Bury Cllr Mike Connolly and Hollyoaks actress Jazz Franks.

The 29-year-old said: “I knew there was a demand for a nursery in this area as I live just over road. I wanted to create a safe stimulating environment for children to thrive.

“It has been a dream of mine for some time to open a nursery, especially in this area where I grew up.

“I now feel that after gaining years of experience in teaching and working in nurseries and in other childcare settings that it is the right time to pursue my dream.”

Cllr Tamoor Tariq commented at the meeting where the application was given permission that it was “great”.

He continued: “I’ve been in touch with lots of constituents who have struggled to find local nursery places, so it is much needed.”

The nursery currently has space for 21 children.
