A COMPANY is looking to expand its global business after securing a deal to sell a pioneering insect repellent around the world.
Clear Prospects Ltd has beat off several rivals to win the global distribution rights to sell Mozzy Off - the only repellent to be made from plant extracts.
It is hoped the deal will allow the small company based in Glenfield Park, Blackburn, to increase its turnover to several hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.
Clear Prospects, was set up by businessman Michael Robinson, 38, of Clitheroe, in 2000 after he travelled the world as a backpacker.
He said: "It's a natural solution to the misery and health problems caused by biting insects.
"It ticks all the boxes. It works, it is 100 per cent natural, kind to your skin, offers six hours protection and is water resistant.
"The global potential for this product is huge."
Mozzy Off is made from a mix of plant extracts, which repels everything from mosquitoes to black fly.
The product claims to also create a cloak that makes the wearer invisible to insects.
Strathclyde Police, the Forestry Commission and the World Wildlife Fund have all agreed to use the repellent.
Clear Prospects will now enter into talks with major retailers to get the product stocked in shops throughout the world.
Mr Robinson, has previously developed a travel pillow based on his experiences of a backpacker which is stocked in shops including John Lewis, Boots, Harrods, Selfridges and ASDA.
