A CAR was flipped onto its side when it collided with a parked car.

The silver Audi A1 was tipped up in a crash with a grey Peugeot 208 in Walkden Road, Walkden, close to the junction with Edge Fold Road.

A firefighter from Eccles Fire Station, whose crew attended, said: "A young girl was driving the Audi, which hit a stationary vehicle and the Audi ended up on its side.

"She was a bit shaken up.

"She was out of the vehicle prior to our arrival.

"The Audi was a bit bashed up — a couple of broken windows and the windscreen smashed.

"It was on its side pinned up against the Peugeot."

There were no other people involved in the collision at 3.05pm on Thursday. (Aug 4)

Siân Haslam posted on Facebook: "The brown car was stationary.

"It was my sister who crashed. She swerved another car.

"She's at hospital, anyway."

Firefighters righted the Audi and helped it off the carriageway.

Police officers cordoned off part of the road to aid the recovery of the damaged vehicles.

A GMP spokeswoman said the female driver had "possible minor injuries" and the crash was not being investigated as a crime.
