WHEN four pals turned up for their school prom, they made sure their arrival really packed a punch.

Luis Gould, aged 15, Daniel Taylor, aged 15, Elliot Dagnall, aged 16, and Thomas Simpson, aged 16, stepped out of a Transit van amidst a plume of smoke while a brass band played the iconic Rocky theme song, Gonna Fly Now.

Rivington and Adlington Brass Band played the famous song, from the hit 1976 boxing film Rocky starring Sylvester Stallone, as the friends stepped out for their Harper Green School prom at the Macron Stadium last month.

Luis, who now plans to complete a level three diploma in sport, said: "Dylan Taylor, Daniel's dad, came up with the idea with help from friends and band members as we didn't want an average entrance to prom.

"We made a big entrance which created a memory for both me and my friends to look back on in years to come."

Friends cheered as the boys made their entrance and the video has since been a hit online, being featured on popular websites LAD Bible and UniLad, with people praising the lads for arriving in style.

There was a smoke machine in the back of the van which was pumped three times for maximum effect.
