A RESIDENT accidentally fell from the second floor of his apartment at a sheltered housing complex.
The man, believed to be in his mid-50s and with a condition that affects his balance, plunged over a balcony railing at Amblecote Gardens in Amblecote Drive West, Little Hulton.
He was taken to Salford Royal Hospital with head and other injuries classified as a 'major trauma' following the 4.30pm tumble on Saturday. (June 25)
Amblecote Gardens, managed by City West Housing Trust, provides 66 'extra care' flats designed to help their occupants live independently.
Paul Carhart, of City West Housing Trust, said: “We are aware of an accident at Amblecote Gardens over the weekend. We remain in close contact with the family of the individual involved and look forward to welcoming him home once he is fully recovered.”
