POLICE are searching for a toddler who has gone missing with his father.

Two-year-old Musa Bham was last seen leaving his Daubhill home with his dad Abdullah Bham on Sunday, June 5.

UPDATE: Missing Bolton toddler Musa Bham found 'safe and well'

The pair were officially reported missing on Friday but police have so far been unable to find them and are now appealing for the public's help.

Detective Inspector Danny Brophy of GMP’s Bolton borough said: “We have followed a number of lines of inquiry in our efforts to find Musa and Abdullah Bham but have so far been unable to trace them.

"Although I would like to stress that we do not believe Musa to be in any danger, his family is growing extremely worried about him and are desperate for his return.

"I am urging anybody who may have information about the pair’s whereabouts to please contact police immediately."

Airports and ports have been put on alert for the missing 52-year-old father and son.

Both Musa and father Abdullah are originally from Batley, West Yorkshire, and still have links to the area. There is no suggestion the father has fled abroad with the toddler, who is an only child.

GMP is liaising with West Yorkshire Police about their whereabouts because officers believe the pair have most likely returned to their old area.

Det Insp Brophy's colleague, Detective Inspector Charlotte Cadden, said: "Initially the mother was trying to make her own enquiries and act through the court system but that didn't work so they came to the police and we have taken an investigation on. She had moved to Bolton recently from Batley with Musa."

Mr Bham has not committed an offence by taking off with his son within British borders and so the police investigation is taking the form of a missing person enquiry.
