A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a jump went wrong in Bolton's Jump Xtreme.

The 28-year-old injured suffered an ankle injury after jumping from a height onto an inflatable air bag.

A fire crew from Bolton Central and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were called to the trampoline park in Trinity Retail Park just before 1pm today.

She was treated at the scene before being taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Watch manager Karsten Boyle added: "When we got there, staff had already deflated the airbag so the woman was as stable as she could be. We administered first aid and oxygen and waited with her for the ambulance to arrive.

"We assisted NWAS with moving her from the airbag and onto the stretcher and she was then taken to hospital."

Jump Xtreme operations manager Simon Lloyd was on duty when the woman, who was visiting the park with her family, suffered the injury and said the centre called out the fire brigade as part of its standard procedure.

He said: "We get thousands of people through here on a weekly basis with no incident. Every activity, from rugby to ice skating, carries a risk.

"Every jumper who comes in here signs a waiver and watches a video to take them through the risks before enjoying the different activities in the park.

"We have different levels of entry height onto the airbag, which is a stunt airbag, and she jumped from one of the higher ones.

"We are waiting to hear the outcome of the injury and wish her all the best."
