AN ELDERLY woman had to be rescued by firefighters after getting stuck on a hydraulic lift at a mobile X-ray unit.
A fire crew from Farnworth were called to Walkden Medical Centre at 11am on Thursday, after the 77-year-old woman and a member of staff were stuck on the broken-down lift for an hour.
Watch manager Carl Haslam said: "We got a call that an elderly woman and a member of staff were stuck on the lift at a height.
"She was coming out of the X-ray unit and the lift wouldn't go down, and the staff couldn't get her back inside and down the stairs themselves.
"We managed to get her down and an engineer also came out to fix the lift."
