PEOPLE'S Postcode Lottery players across parts of Blackburn, Darwen and Ribble Valley are in line for a share of a £3million prize pot.

They could win tens, or even hundreds of thousands of pounds, in a draw at the end of this month.

On Saturday, April 30 ticket holders across the BB2 4 postcode will be contacted to be told how much cash is coming their way.

All valid tickets are guaranteed a prize from the £3million 'Postcode Millions' winners' pot.

It could be anything from a few pounds to a maximum prize of £400,000 depending how many winning tickets have been bought.

But the lucky ticket holders will not be the only winners as charities across the UK also benefit from their flutter.

All individuals who has paid their £10 for 10 monthly draws by the deadline last month will be in for guaranteed prize if they live in the BB2 4 postcode.

A small group in a specific full postcode, to be announced at a prize-giving event on April 30 at Witton Park in Blackburn, will share in £1.5million of the prize fund up to a legal maximum of £400,000 each.

The remaining £1.5million will be split in smaller amount among the remaining ticket holders in BB2 4.

"This is good news for people in my ward who will be able to use the cash and for many charities that benefit, including local ones."

Diane Marie Price, who won the MBE at New Year for running In Di Go from her Feniscowles home, is also keeping her fingers crossed for her ticket.

The group received £1,976 from the postcode lottery for its work provide activities and support for children with disabilities and learning difficulties.

She said: "The money made a real difference to use and the 50 plus families we work with."

Piggy Park Community Garden Association also received £1,990 towards a £23,000 project to renovate a derelict area of Rishton, specifically to create a Forest Schools area for outdoor learning.

Hyndburn council leader, Cllr Miles Parkinson, said: "Piggy Park is a great project that has benefitted from the People's Postcode Lottery."
