A FARMER was run over by his own tractor in a freak accident.
The accident happened at Sunny Brow Farm in Wingates Lane, close to the M61, at about 2pm on Sunday.
It is understood that the man, aged 65, got out of his tractor to feed some cattle and it rolled forward and trapped him.
He is thought to have been found by his wife.
Firefighters and police attended the scene.
They used air bags to lift the tractor off the man.
He was was taken by air ambulance to Wythenshawe Hospital with serious injures.
He is thought to have at least one broken leg.
Police and the fire service were at the scene until about 5.30pm.
