A 19-year-old has been charged following the death of Latham Schofield, who died in a car crash in Farnworth yesterday.

Police charged a teenager with six offences including; causing death by dangerous driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop and report a collision, using a motor vehicle with no license or insurance and using a vehicle with no MOT.

Emergency services were called to Plodder Lane in Farnworth shortly before 2:30am on February 11 after reports that a silver Renault Megane had collided with a tree. 

17-year-old boy, Latham Schofield, who was travelling as a passenger in the car received fatal injuries and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
