TRIBUTES have been paid to a mother-of-two who died in a collision in Bolton town centre.

At 10pm on Sunday, a woman named by family as Louise Wolstenholme, from Bolton, crossed Bow Street at the junction of Crown Street when she fell over.

A short time later, a bus and two vehicles are seen on CCTV slowing down and driving around her.

There was a short break in traffic before another car, a Ford Focus, collided with her.

The car pulled up in Back Bridge Street and the driver abandoned the vehicle before contacting police later that night.

Tributes have been made to the 'bubbly' mother from Bury Road in Breightmet, who was the owner of a hair salon and was in her 50s.

On Facebook, her brother Mark Wolstenholme confirmed she had died in the incident.

He wrote: "It is a living nightmare. It is my sister Louise Wolstenholme. What a sad loss to her sons and partner and me and much loved friends and family."

Family tribute to mother with 'heart as big as her personality' who died after being hit by car in Bolton

Louise, mother of Gareth and Bradley, was the owner of Louise's Hair Studio, in Bury Road, and was a well-known and loved member of the community.

Friend Christine Kay, aged 56, who ran neighbouring Newtrend Hair and Beauty, had known Louise since opening her business 35 years ago.

She said: "She was vivacious, bubbly, friendly, a very, open, honest girl. She was a good friend. There was nothing bad about her, there was nothing to dislike.

"We've always chatted and kept in touch, we shared a passion for horses. It is a big shock, she is very well thought of in this area and well-known, she is a local girl. She had a lot of local clients. I think they will be devastated."

A notice has gone up in the window of Louise's Hair Studio informing customers that the salon has been 'closed due to a bereavement'.

A neighbour, who did not wish to be named, described her as a down-to-earth mum of two boys, who enjoyed life and was well-liked by all who knew her.

A client of more than 20 years also paid tribute, saying: "I will really miss her, everyone will. She was just a really nice lady."

Tinashe Irvine Chikoto, aged 22, of Devonshire Road in Atherton, will appear in court today following the incident.

He has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving; failing to stop at the scene of a collision; failing to report a collision; causing death whilst unlicensed; driving a motor vehicle without insurance; driving whilst unfit through drugs; and perverting the course of justice

He has been remanded in custody to appear before Bolton Magistrates' Court.
