An injured horse has been seized by the RSPCA with the help of Bolton police.
Police officers from Farnworth helped officers from the charity seize the neglected animal on Wednesday.
The RSPCA was called about a black a white cob-type horse near to Heywood, Rochdale.
Police removed the horse due to welfare concerns and placed him into RSPCA care, where he is receiving treatment for a wound to his neck.
The investigation is an ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact the RSPCA inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
