A PAIR of pampered pugs belonging to a Blackburn nurse are set to star on a new national range of cushions.

Brian, a two-year-old black pug and one-year-old tawny pug Barbara, beat 24,000 other pets to win Asda's George Home Facebook competition.

Lancashire Telegraph:

Owned by Royal Blackburn Hospital nurse Emma Sharp, 27 and husband Stuart, 31, the the pooches will be decorating homes up and down the country after the cushions hit the supermarket shelves at the weekend.

Described by their owners as like a brother and sister it maybe is no surprise that they won over the George Home team and secured their owners £100 in Asda vouchers.

Mrs Sharpe, who lives in Lockstock Hall, said: "Its harder work than having kids sometimes, they're like our babies.

"Brian is more relaxed than Barbara and will often sit on ours knees, but they are both crazy.

“Despite having different personalities, both are affectionate, loyal and playful, and get on with each other most of the time.

"Brian is a typical big brother, protecting Barbara and demanding the attention, but Barbara doesn’t have any of it.

"They always come running up to us when we get home from work.

"We are so proud of them both and cannot wait to see their gorgeous little faces on the Asda shelves.

"Brian hates seeing other animals on the television; therefore we are interested to see how he reacts to his own face in the living room."

The couple have had their four-legged friends since they were puppies, with Brian coming from a friend and Barbara being born just down the street from where they lived.

The cushions will be sold in 230 stores in the country and online and if you want too see more of the pugs follow their Instagram account 'BrianandBarbara'.
