Archaeologist Rachel Newman will give a presentation on Roman Walton-le-Dale at the Leyland Historical Society's next meeting.
Rachel produced a report on the findings from an excavation at the Capitol Centre in Walton-le-Dale which proved that the River Ribble, and its tributary, the River Darwen, were major shipping and warehouse sites for Romans in the North West.
She will talk at the meeting at the Leyland RAF Club, Golden Hill Lane, Leyland, on June 4 at 7.30pm.
Admission is free for society members and £2 for non-members.
