FRIENDS and family of a woman suffering from terminal cancer braved the long walk from Blackburn Town Hall to Accrington Town Hall to raise money for her treatment.

Tracy Langford, a mum of four from Blackburn, was given two years to live on August 4 after being told her breast cancer had spread throughout her body.

She is desperate to try a revolutionary treatment in the United States, though, so that she can spend more time with her family, and so her loved ones aimed to make that dream a reality by parading through East Lancashire dressed as clowns.

Coral Langford, Tracy’s daughter, said: “Everyone notices you when you’re dressed as a clown, so that’s why we did it.

“It’s nice that even people who don’t know my mum well have tried to get involved.”

Tracy added: “I’m absolutely speechless about the support people have given. It’s unbelievable. I wish I could’ve taken part but I was told I had to save my energy — I honestly feel fine.

“I’d like to thank everyone that took part.”

The event was organised by Kelly Baxendale, cousin of Tracy’s partner, Jason.

A fundraising soul night and auction at Calypso, in Eanam Wharf, was also held yesterday, and other events are also planned.

Tracy wants to raise £8,000 to try the cannabinoid treatment THC and CBD, which has had positive results in tests in America, to prolong her life and allow her to spend more time with children Coral, 19, Declan and Brandon, both 12, and Rhiana, six.
