A DOCTOR has admitted sex assaults on two nurses at the former Queen's Park Hospital in Blackburn.
Dr Patrick Chanda, 41, carried out the indecent attacks while employed as a registrar in the obstetrics and gynaecology department at the hospital, which is part of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Chanda, of Trafalgar Road, Wigan, has been bailed until June 5 for sentence.
High Court Judge Mr Justice McCombe told Chanda he was likely to receive a custodial sentence.
The two offences date back to March and May 2006. Hospital bosses have previously confirmed that Dr Chanda has resigned from his post.
Dr Chanda also remains the subject of an interim suspension order by the General Medical Council, pending a hearing to discuss his future.
