A STOLEN van held together by duct tape was seized by police after it was driven through Bolton.
When officers stopped the white Iveco model they discovered it also had false plates.
GMP Traffic tweeted an image of the van on Tuesday night with the message: “Top spot by our GMP Traffic PCSO who spots a dodgy van in Bolton. Turns out to be a stolen van on false plates.”
Shaun Henderson, a police support volunteer with Durham Constabulary, replied: “Was it seriously taped together or is it some kind of wind up? #TooGoodToBeTrue”
GMP Traffic said: “No wind-up that’s how we found it. Nothing looks more dodgy than a van held together with duct tape.”
Mr Henderson replied: “I’m big user of tape repairs, but that is pushing it somewhat! #ThoughtItWasAJoke #GoodWork.”
It is not known if anyone was arrested in connection with the van theft.
