A MAN celebrating a promotion in the motor trade failed a breathalyser test after driving back to a pub to pay his bar tab.
Blackburn magistrates heard the loss of his licence had already cost Allan Gornall his new job which he was due to start in Oldham.

Gornall, 39, of Brownhill Drive, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol.
He was made subject to a curfew between 9pm and 6am for 12 weeks, ordered to pay £85 costs and £150 criminal court charge and banned from driving for 24 months.
Gareth Price, defending, said Gornall had started work in the motor trade when he left school and had worked his way up to be workshop manager.
The day of the offence had been his last before taking a new job and he had gone to the pub in the afternoon. Mr Price said he ‘foolishly’ drove back to the pub later to pay his tab.
