McFLY mania swept over East Lancashire last night as fans travelled from far and wide to see their heroes.

Claire Kemp, 17 had travelled up from Essex just to see the chart-topping band.

"They're brilliant. I just had to come," she said.

"I just love McFly," said Jess Maher, 15, from Lower Darwen.

"They're great because they can really sing and can all play their instruments."

Frankie Gest, also 15, of Southcliffe, Great Harwood added: "They're brilliant.

"It's fantastic to get the chance to see them in Blackburn."

Lisa Townsend, 13, of Siddows Avenue, Clitheroe, took her mum Amanda along to the show.

"Ive seen McFly when they switched on Blackpool Illuminations but this will be my first live show," she said.

Mum Amanda added: "They're gorgeous, what more do you need to say!"

Sarah Haworth, 13, of Jubilee Street, Read, said: "I'm so excited, I can't wait to see them."

But for one young fan, five-year-old Tom Gauntlett of Melbourne Street, Darwen, it was support act Lil Chris who was the main attraction.

"He just loves him," said mum Paula, "he's been up since six this morning, he's so excited."
