POLICE have released images of an “Aladdin’s cave” of what they believe is stolen property and are attempting to reunite the items with their owners.

Officers are asking people who have recently had items taken from cars or homes if they recognise any of these articles.

Police said they were trying to reunite owners with their property after a number of suspected stolen items were recently found following an arrest of a suspect.

The haul was uncovered after police were called at 4am on Monday, July 27 to a report of a man acting suspiciously and trying to open car doors in the Brotherston Drive area of Fernhurst, Blackburn.

Officers attended the area and detained a 31-year-old man who was found in possession of valuable items.

The items included sat navs, mobile phones, iPods and sunglasses which he was unable to account for having on his person.

He was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and later charged.

The items include a black Via Michelin sat nav, a silver Garmin sat nav and a silver Navman sat nav kit.

A pair of tan Crown Optical sunglasses in a red case were also retrieved and some black sunglasses in a black case.

Two iPods, one black and one white were seized.

A silver Motorola Razr and three black Nokia mobile phones were also collected.

PC Dan Fish from Blackburn Police said: “If you recognise any of these items please get in touch with us.”
