A GREAT-grandmother, who left school at 13 to work in the cotton mills, has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Ellen Wilson, who lives in Pendle Court Sheltered Housing Scheme in Clitheroe, celebrated the milestone with a family party.
Among the wellwishers were cousins who had travelled all the way from America.
Mrs Wilson said: "It was a lovely do and great to see all of the family."
She was born in West View in the town and worked as a cotton weaver before marrying Harry when she was 22.
She has one son, Adrian, 75, two grandchildren and a baby great-granddaughter.
