A FLOORING company has begun taking on new staff after securing a multi-million pound deal.

Premier Commercial Flooring Solutions, signed the contract with LG Floors to supply its products across the UK and Ireland.

The company, based in Preston Old Road, Blackburn, beat off a number of competitors to clinch the contract with the Korean giant, part of the LG Group.

Leo Flood, chairman of Premier Commercial Flooring, said the contract would last for about five years.

He added that the number of jobs created was dependant on the success of the contract.

Premier Commercial will supply a range of LG's vinyl planks, tiles and sheet flooring to commercial and retail customers.

Mr Flood said: "We are delighted to have signed this agreement with LG Flooring and look forward to building a leading quality flooring brand in the UK and Irish markets.

Premier Commercial was founded over 30-years-ago and specialises in the supply of commercial flooring to blue chip clients such as JJB Sports, BUPA, TJ Hughes, Center Parcs, Holiday Inn and Taylor Woodrow Homes.

The company, which has a domestic arm, Leo's Carpets, employs 55 staff and has a turnover of £5.1million.

The LG Group, is made up of 31 different companies and employs about 160,000 people.

It has a base in Lower Philips Road, Blackburn where cathodes for TVs are made.

Sean O'Malley of Nat West Commercial Bank, Blackburn, who helped put together the funding package said: "The fact that LG have chosen Premier Commercial as their sole UK sales, marketing and distribution partner demonstrates just how well regarded the company are."
