The winners of the Fusions Awards were announced at a ceremony on Sunday night.

Here is a rundown of all the winners.

Man of the year: Sheraz Arshad and Farouk Hussain, from Clitheroe, were behind the first ever Muslim place of worship in the Ribble Valley after a 30 year battle.

Woman of the year: Kailash Parekh, from Preston, has been working to build bridges between different faiths in the fields of community education and community development for 25 years.

Media personality award: Anila Baig, a journalist for the Sun, started her career at the Telegraph and Argus in Bradford, her home city.

Public Sector Award: Mumtaz Bashir, the engineer from Manchester is heading the pre volunteer programme for the London Olympics and won the award for her social inclusion and regeneration work.

Community group of the year: Kashmir Youth Project / Crompton Women's Forum (shared).

This was shared between the the Kashmir Youth Project, a ground-breaking Rochdale based initiative.

The Crompton Women's Forum is a Bolton based organisation which was set up by women to combat rising youth crime.

Achievement in Sport award: Kamran Ashraf, is a 15-year-old snooker ace from Nelson, who has notched up over a hundered tournament victories .

Entrepreneur award: Imran Hakim is the businessman behind the Bolton based chain Mikah Eyewear.

Community Cohesion Award: Inspector Andy Pratt Lancashire Police, started his career as a sargeant in Blackburn, and in 1996 was responsible for setting up the first police community cohesion team in the county which was the model for all other policing areas to follow.

Educational Achievement: Zaberjad Iftikhar, is a Nelson & Colne College student who achieved 2 A's in English Language and English Literature and a grade B in French despite English not being her first language.
