THE St Peter's Centre in Burnley is holding an open day for parents and carers of special needs children.
The open day, on Saturday, will give parents and carers help and information about the full range of services available to them from statutory agencies such as the Health Service and Lancashire County Council.
A host of voluntary organisations and support groups will also be at the award winning centre from 10am to 3pm.
The £28m health and leisure centre won a national award for helping to reduce obesity and promote healthy living, earlier this month.
The state-of-the-art development was praised by judges who used the centre as an example of how health standards should be raised in a deprived area The St Peter's Centre was opened last year and is jointly owned by the council and East Lancashire Primary Care Trust.
The open day has been organised by the East Lancashire Primary Care Trust, which covers Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale areas.
A crèche and free, limited time, on-site parking facilities are being made available at the centre.
