FOOTBALL stars are coming out in force this Friday to support Burnley and Pendle's potential stars of the future.

Former Liverpool player Alan Kennedy and Burnley favourite Paul Weller are two of the names attending a sportsman's dinner to raise money for Barrowford Celtic FC at Turf Moor.

And the club is calling on all fans to attend the event and support its aims.

And in a breakaway from the norm, organ-isers have opened the traditionally based occasion to women.

The James Hargreaves Suite will be the setting for an evening of nostalgia and entertainment to raise cash for the club.

Entertainment will be provided by Irish comedian Dusty Young and Mike King will be compere.

Diners will also be able to watch Burnley's match at Sunderland as the evening's game is televised live.

Tickets cost £25 per person and a table of ten can be purchased for £250.

Former players have already pledged their support for the evening and club chairman Bob Flounders is keen for more to come forward.

Anyone wanting tickets should contact Kath Nutter on 01282 615052 or Bob Flounders on 01282 617066.
