An explosion at a recreation centre has been blamed on a firework or crude homemade device.
Firefighters were called to the Roman Road Recreation Centre, Fishmoor Drive, Blackburn, at about 5.30pm after smoke was seen coming from the building.
Watch manager, John Blackledge, said the building appeared to have been broken into and the showers had been turned on.
A couple of chairs, part of the floor and wall were damaged in the explosion.
The device has been handed over to police for further investigation, no one was injured.
