POLICE are used to dealing with prickly customers.
But this warm-hearted officer knew exactly what they were dealing with when they pulled over in Crompton Way today.
This wandering hedgehog was saved from the busy, main road and taken to safety in an officer's hat.
Bolton North neighbourhood policing team posted: "Random job. Hedgehog saved in Crompton Way. #GoodDeedOfTheDay."
Police came in for praise on social media.
Bev Howell posted on Facebook: "Such important little creatures. So what if they carry a few fleas.
"They're wild animals and it's the circle of life. Well done guys nice to see a little bit of kindness you've made my day."
Sharon Breadney said: " Don't see many hedgehogs these days, so well done on saving this little one."
