A MAN who was found with head and neck injuries near Bolton town centre fell over and injured himself, CCTV has revealed.

Police were initially investigating whether a man had been stabbed in a Bolton town centre underpass at 12.50am yesterday.

The 27-year-old needed to go to hospital after he woke up in the underpass between Castle Street and Churchgate.

The man had no memory of how he came by the injuries in the incident, and he was taken to hospital with cuts on his neck and head.

After reviewing CCTV of the incident, however, police found that the man had fallen over and injured himself.
