SHOPPERS were transported 65 million years into the past when a dinosaur wandered the Mill Gate centre for a family half-term event.

A life-sized stegosaurus, called Tiny, was the star of a Jurassic-themed day last Thursday (May 28) which sent hundreds of dino-mad youngsters wild.

Tiny was joined by paleontologist Suzanna Stone for the fun and educational show, with crowds careful to avoid being ‘thagomized’ by the spikes on the end of the baby stegosaurus’ tail.

Mill Gate manager Marie Gribben said: “It has been a really popular event with hundreds of children watching each of the three shows. The children really enjoyed feeding Tiny at the end of each performance.”
