A former Chorley vicar risked arrest yesterday - by playing a rock gig at an American army base in North Yorkshire.
Rocking Reverend Philip Chew, formerly of St Laurence's Parish Church, and his band Revisit were due to play at the USA's Menwith Hill base, near Harrogate.
The Yellow Line Gig is named after a line at the base which marks British from American land. Anyone who crosses it risks arrest.
The band is performing a set, which includes their new single We're Under Attack and a cover of Green Day's smash hit American Idiot, at the listening base as a show of support to protesters who fear the site could be become home to part of the US missile defence system also known as star wars.
Rev Chew said: "We are going to show solidarity and identify with the fact there are people who protest about Menwith Hill."
