FOOTBALLERS at Blackburn Rovers were treated to an exclusive personal viewing of some of the latest motor cars at their Brockhall training ground.

Car dealerships Bowker Maserati in Osbaldeston and Bowker BMW in Blackburn joined forces to put on the event.

They took five of their latest models along to the training ground after the Rovers first team had finished training.

The selection included the new Maserati Ghibli, which retails at close to £50,000 and has a top speed of 155 mph.

Bowker BMW also took along the BMW X6M, which sells at over £50,000 and can do 0-60 in around five seconds, and the electric supercar BMW i8, which has a list price of around £100,000 and can outsprint a Porsche from 0-62 mph.

Rovers players and boss Gary Bowyer took an interest in all the cars on show at Brockhall.

Chris Eccles, from the Bowker Motor Group, said the models had been chosen because they were eye-catching, and he was impressed with the knowledge the players had about cars.

He said: “Thank you to Blackburn Rovers for allowing us to arrange this exclusive viewing. We picked out some of the most eye-catching models in our showrooms. The players were well informed and knew all about their cars; and showed a keen interest in the cars on show.”
